Video Games and Education: Not as far as they seem

Videogames are often used as the perfect example of a time sink responsible for poor school performance, antisocial behaviour and nearly all evils apart from the Great Plague of the XIVth century.

Recent studies (and common sense) point to a number of skills that are actually enhanced by a number of games, as you can see from the infographics below.

This does not mean you should let your kid spend the whole night up playing Spores, but there is enough to reassure you that an hour of it would not condemn it to frying hamburgers at McDonalds for life.
